The Scott City boys jumped out in front of the Kingman Eagles in the first quarter and never looked back. The Beavers ran away with a 65-47 win in first round action of the Sterling Invitational Tournament. Scoring 28 points in the first quarter, Scott City looked like all the part of a #2 tournament seed.
The Beavers extended their lead to 39-19 by halftime and 57-32 after three quarters. Leading the way for the Beavers were Jackson Rumford with 19 points and Sage Stoecklein with 17. Game-high honors went to Chase Webster of the Eagles with 20. Scott City will face Hugoton on Friday at 6:00 pm, while Kingman will take on Hutchinson Trinity at 4:30 pm in second-round action at Sterling College. Comments are closed.
