The Trinity Celtics jumped out to the early lead against the Kingman Eagles on Friday in the Sterling Invitational Tournament to advance to the fifth-place contest on Saturday with a convincing 73-45 win.
The Celtics were never in trouble, shooting 63 percent from the field for the game. On the other hand, the Celtics could only manage to shoot 29 percent. With the Celtics leading 64-29 going into the final period, the contest finished with a running clock in the fourth quarter. High scores for Trinity were Max Ryan with 21 points, followed by Drew Dechant with 11 and Aaron Gust and Jackson Dozier with 10 each. Double figure scorers for Kingman were Tristen Davidson with 15 and Chase Webster with 11. Trinity, 3-5, will face Smoky Valley on Saturday at 1:30 pm at Sterling High in the Ora Shields Activity Center. Kingman, 2-7, will matchup with Lyons, also at 1:30 pm in the South Gym at Sterling High School in the seventh-place contest. (Dwight Nichols) Comments are closed.
