Lyons Holds Off Hugoton For Third Place

The Lyons Lions used a 19-point fourth quarter to come back and then held off the Hugoton Eagles for third place by the score of 63-62. Led by Deacon Showalter with 18 points and Xavier Solis with 17, the Lions (6-6) withstood a final second attempt by the Eagles on Friday in the Gleason Center at Sterling College.
      Lyons made 17 of 27 free throws to aid their efforts, while Hugoton was just six of nine for the contest. The Lions also dominated on the boards, grabbing 32 rebounds to just 17 for the Eagles (4-7). Hugoton was led in scoring by senior, Jay Acosta with 19 points and Miguel Hernandez with 11.
