The Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans found themselves in a dogfight with the Sterling Lady Black Bears in the semi-finals of the Sterling Girls Invitational Tournament on Friday afternoon. When it was all said and done, the Lady Trojans pulled away for a 46-35 win.
Thanks to a three-point bucket by Sterling's Blaine Locke in the final seconds of the opening quarter, things were tied at 13-all. Things remained tight through the second quarter as well. The two teams exchanged three-point baskets near the end of the quarter with Shklar Olsen connecting near the end of the quarter to pull the Lady Bears within three at 28-25 at the half. But the second half belonged to Southeast as they began to pull away in the third quarter. Leading 39-29 heading into the final period, the Lady Trojans maintained their double-digit lead to advance into the Championship game on Saturday.
