Rebounding and free throw shooting were the main ingredients that allowed the Scott City Lady Beavers to claim the tourney title over Southeast of Saline by the score of 46-43 Friday night in the Gleason Center at Sterling College. Scott City outrebounded the Lady Trojans 31-24, including 15 offensive rebounds, while making 15 of 22 attempts from the free throw line, compared to just eight of 18 for Southeast.
Avery Lewis led Scott City (7-5) with 15 points while Megan Trout contributed 10 points, going 10 of14 from the foul line. Trout also pulled down seven rebounds, five on the offensive end, for the win. The Lady Trojans (9-3) were led in scoring by freshman Kyiah Samuelson with 13 points and Suttyn Douglas with 11.
