The Kingman Lady Eagles held off the Trinity Lady Celtics in a consolation bracket game on Friday afternoon in the Sterling Girls Invitation Tournament. The final score was 39-34.
Trinity held a one-point advantage, 13-12, after the first quarter. The Lady Celtics maintained that lead at the halftime intermission, 23-17. However, the Lady Eagles brought out their defense in the third quarter, holding Trinity to just two points. That gave Kingman a one-point advantage, 26-25 going into the final period. Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Laney Wood with 15 points. Mattie Galliher had 11 for Trinity. Trinity will play in the seventh-place game on Saturday at 12:00 pm in the South Gym at Sterling High School. Kingman will also play at 12:00 pm at Sterling High School in the Ora Shields Activity Center for fifth place. (Dwight Nichols) Comments are closed.
