With both sides playing their second game in a 24 hour span, the Hugoton Eagles
scrapped out a 46-38 victory over the Remington Broncos. The Broncos came out of the gate hot, jumping out to an 11-8 lead at the end of the first period of play; paced by the play of Braden Marciano (15 pts). The Eagles, who came out shooting at a torrid 2 for 13 in the first quarter, came alive in the second; paced by the play of Michael Maribal (9 pts) and Mitchell Hamlin (11 pts) dominated the second period and went into the break up 27-16. The third period saw the Eagles slowly expand the lead to 15, Damien Lewis contributing an 8 point effort. Riding a 37-22 into the fourth period, the Eagles were met by a resilient Bronco squad, Shane Tilletson who scored 7 on the night; along with Chase Bowen and Kyle Thiessen slowly chipped away at the Eagle lead. However, time was not on the side of the Broncos, and the Eagles walked away victorious in the contest. Comments are closed.
